Competition on the ski slopes is tough with different dining and entertainment concepts competing for guests. This calls for unusual solutions in order to attract attention and use the available space optimally. During the day, spacious sun patios form a popular attraction. But how do they look at night or in bad weather, when a wind and weather protected space is required?
The “Dampkessel” lives up to its name because things get lively at night here – especially after the original space undergoes significant expansion: the large umbrellas and wind walls make for a spacious sun patio with a wind and weather protected après ski location. The special feature here: weather permitting, the patio is also ideal for sunbathing on the ski slopes because the entire glass section can disappear completely at the touch of a button! Within 4 minutes, the large wind walls are sunk into the ground with no troublesome barriers or disruptive framework remaining. A profile specially developed by Meissl makes this possible. On those afternoons when it is uncomfortable or the weather is poor, the walls magically rise into the air and enclose the opened large umbrellas. Integrated doors then allow free access; the umbrellas are equipped with appropriate lighting and sound systems. Let the party begin! It is also remarkable that the walls with their multiple angles follow the course of the patio.
Covered area: 307 m² with three large custom-built umbrellas
36 linear meter long and 3 m high fully retractable glass wall, 6,300 kg total weight
