The GRIABLI in St. Anton: from restaurant huts on the slopes to après ski-hotspot


How, with one all-inclusive umbrella bar from Meissl, a simple ski bar was transformed into a popular après ski hotspot, the hundreds of guests (daily) and the hosts were equally impressed.

High above the internationally famous ski and world cup championship resort of St.Anton am Arlberg – directly by the run down into the valley, the Galzig, is the “GRIABLI“. The owner, Helmut Schweiger decided in 2019, to invest in this perfect location and to make a number one location amongst après ski hotspots which have direct access to the slopes. The plan: to build an additional terrace on the newly built cellar, which would offer ski guests a perfect, high-quality gastronomical place to stop and take a break. The good choice fell upon a Meissl umbrella bar, “covering” an area of 63 sqm – including retractable glass walls in order to transform the additional space into an open-air areal, depending upon the weather. In the ski season of 2019/2020, “GRIABLI“ became the most popular meeting point for snow fans. As under the umbrella bar, the atmosphere is always a hit, thanks to the integrated heating and sound system. Daily, more and more guests were sitting on the well-padded seating furniture from Meissl, which are conveniently delivered at the same time. Helmut Schweiger summed up, “The Meissl umbrella bar is like a second bar for us and is a real guest magnet. We place great value on the very best quality in every regard, and this really pays off.”
