Meissl celebrates outside – since 1976
Meissl has been enabling open air experiences for many decades: What was originally founded by Renate and Johann Meissl in a garage in 1976 has long since achieved international recognition. Managed by Hermine Meissl in the second generation, our ever-growing team, which now counts around 60 employees, builds on the solid foundation that has been created over the decades and continues to strive. We look back on milestones such as our first umbrella bar and the following development of the basic range of our large umbrellas in the M, MV and MR series.
Step by step, we continued to improve the outdoor experience – with the introduction of our wind protection products as well as the development of functional furniture, various accessories and smart details. Meissl soon records half a century of relentless innovation in sophisticated weather protection and this experience is well worth being seen. Until today as well as in the future we are constantly adding new achievements to our portfolio. Getting bigger. Thinking further. Out of our comfort zone, for our customers' comfort zone. Always outdoors, no matter the weather.

First customer order for a large umbrella: 8 x 8 metres.
The Meissl umbrella bar as a new kind of ready-to-use venue.
Award of the National Coat of Arms for exceptional services to the Austrian economy.
For the first time, the export share exceeds 50 percent.
Launch of the retractable and height-adjustable wind protection walls.
Development of special umbrella solutions for diverse use in public spaces.
Design and installation of a Meissl large umbrella with a diameter of 16 metres and a surface area of 200 square metres.
Founding of the “Meissl Forschungs- und Entwicklungs-GmbH”.
Introduction of new bar systems with equipment variations.
Advancement of the flexible concept of use.
Launch of the virtual Meissl showroom for location-independent sales support.
Production of the first 17-metre umbrella with a covered area of 227 square metres.
