Height-adjustable wind walls
Meissl’s height-adjustable wind walls can be used in numerous variants and in almost every structural situation. Meissl’s half-height wind walls form an effective delineation of patios or open-air restaurants. At the press of a button, additional glass panels rise up – the result is wall-height wind and weather protection. A manual design is also possible. In combination with Meissl large umbrellas or umbrella bars, you can transform an outdoor space in this way, even a fully enclosed space, which attracts guests in cooler temperatures too or in the rain. This allows you to successfully extend your open-air season!

Wind protection walls that retract into the ground
It’s always fascinating for guests to see: Wind walls retracting completely into the ground. Thanks to a special profile system, the walls completely disappear in fine weather and no disruptive barriers or frame elements remain. Open-air, practical wind protection or a sophisticated restaurant atmosphere – the offerings change at the push of a button! Thus, successful extension of the open-air season is guaranteed at any location and at any time. Meissl’s magical moments: with the retractable wind walls, a patio or open area is magically transformed into a glass-enclosed space! In conjunction with a canopy, a completely weather-protected area results.
In new buildings, the space for the sunken glass panes and technology can also be considered in the construction measures. But even subsequent installation is possible, depending on the site conditions, for example with an elevated patio. In this case, the wind protection elements can simply be lowered right in front of the basement level. Or a simple narrow or slit-shaped duct can be dug.
Fixed Wind Walls
Our standardized robust and reliable wind wall option is available in steel and aluminium. The fixed walls are not movable or adjustable, but create a fixed wall and fully protected space around the umbrella. Perfect protection without restricting the view: Permanently installed wind walls combine a generous appearance with a clear separation function. They are therefore particularly suitable for the inconspicuous division of different functional areas, for example in the terrace environment. Individual adaptation to the surroundings is possible through various solutions for the base design and the glass design.
Portal Elements
Of course, the portal element can not be missing in our series of windbreaks. The door allows access and protection of the free-standing locale, which is a screen bar thus. What distinguishes this design from the passage elements is that it can be closed and operated from the outside and from the inside. The passage elements can be only operated from the inside.

Access Elements (Swinging, Folding and Sliding Elements)
With large-size sliding doors and folding walls, the wind walls can be spaciously opened. Thus, flexibility of use and comfort for guests and staff are increased. In this way, a smooth transition to more open-air space is made when the weather is pleasant in particular. In addition, fast, barrier-free access is guaranteed. The sliding doors can be mounted either on the inside or the outside. The foldable wind protection walls work according to the same principle. With the folding glass walls, it is possible to open a front of up to 5 meters without any barriers or support struts.
Wind walls with panoramic top
Our wind walls are also available in the Meissl Panorama version. These wind screens are fitted with insulated glas, which means double glazing (glass-gas-glass) and significantly more comfort in the guest room. In addition, with this design, you can see up to 360° through the top of the umbrella solution into the sky thanks to the panoramic roof at the edge. This allows for more daylight and outdoor feeling, even when the umbrella is closed and allows for more usable space inside the umbrella.
