What a milestone! Half a century of innovation, human connection, and outdoor experiences. Half a century of Meissl. In 2026, we have every reason to celebrate. 

Spring puts us in a celebratory mood – and for good reason: this year marks 50 years of Meissl Open-Air Solutions. Hard to believe, especially since, for our founders Renate and Johann Meissl, it still feels like it all started just yesterday – in their garage. 

Today, under the leadership of Hermine Meissl, supported by her two daughters Simone and Carina, Meissl has grown into an internationally recognized company with around 60 employees and projects all over the world. Step by step, we’ve continuously reimagined the outdoor experience over the decades – from the very first umbrella bar to innovative large-scale umbrellas, functional wind protection systems, and unique outdoor concepts. 

Always together with our people. What has defined us as a family business from the very beginning – and continues to shape who we are – is a simple idea: being human and creating through connection. For 50 years, we have been writing real stories together – with you, our team, our network, and all our partners. That is what truly makes the difference for us. 

And this is how we move forward: with energy, inspiration, a passion for innovation, and a sense of excitement for what lies ahead. We are filled with deep appreciation and gratitude for everything that has been – and already look forward to what’s to come.
