A project that plays the entire Meissl keyboard

Projects

In our “Everything is possible - Meissl special solutions” series, the third and initially last example now follows. We present the “Kuhstall” in Wagrain, a project that demonstrates the entire range of Meissl expertise in a particularly impressive way.

You may remember the two newsletters this year in which we introduced you to the sliding umbrella at “Seppi's Gerlos” in Zillertal and the curved umbrella at “Basecamp” in St. Anton am Arlberg.

Another highlight from the Meissl portfolio is the “Kuhstall” après-ski bar in Wagrain in Pongau. Here, guests are protected from wind and weather from all sides, even from above by a complete Meissl solution, either open when the sun is shining, right down to the retractable wind protection walls which go all the way down into the floor or it can be completely closed. A large part of the Meissl portfolio is always used here to suit the respective weather conditions:

  • 3 MR umbrellas in special formats 9 x 9 m, 11 x 11 m, 11 x 9 m
  • A total of 260 m² covered area
  • 48 running metres of wind protection walls that can be lowered into the ground
  • The wind protection walls are retractable, without any barriers, and can be fully or only half extended, depending on the weather.

Thus, the “Kuhstall” benefits from its sunny ski terrace during the day and from its covered and sheltered restaurant and very well-attended après-ski bar at night.
