Gifts that make a difference

Practice

As you know, we in the Meissl team have long since collectively decided against material gifts at Christmas. We prefer to help during the year and also at Christmas where we can make a difference. Here we present three of the projects that have brought us great joy. Take a look for yourself.

"We immediately thought of Meissl ..."

Surely you too can still remember the dramatic images of the flood of the century in the German Ahr valley in the summer of 2021. At that time Andrea and Wilfried Laufer in Altenahr also lost their long-established pub, the popular “Weineck”.

Mr Laufer reports:
“Due to new building regulations it was not possible to build our house as it originally was. Therefore, we came up with the idea of covering the terrace of the Weineck with umbrellas for the greatest possible weather flexibility and use of the outdoor space. As lifelong skiers, Meissl immediately came to mind, because you see Meissl umbrellas all over the world, which always offer maximum quality and comfort.”

“Today the Weineck offers a fantastic terrace with umbrellas, which is heated and illuminated for up to 40 people. This delights us and all our guests. Even the German Federal President Frank Walter Steinmeier and Minister President Malu Dreyer noticed the beauty of our umbrellas when they visited the Weineck during the reopening. At this point, all that remains is our eternal thanks to the Meissl company for their overwhelming willingness to help.”

Always helping, not just a once off

This has been our motto for many years now, during which we have been supporting Haus Franziskus in Innsbruck, an institution and workplace for people with disabilities. With our financial help, we improve the working and living conditions of the people who are professionally cared for there. The facility offers assisted living, a daily structure and mobility support, as well as physical and psychological therapy programmes. See for yourself where every bit of help arrives directly and immediately: Haus Franziskus

Our contribution towards a great goal

We have also supported a great project in Uganda this year: Maria L. Prean, a native of Innsbruck, heads the internationally active aid organisation Vision for Africa, whose goal is to provide poor children in Africa (with a focus on Uganda) with an education and give them hope for their future. Thanks to the help of many donations, this dream has already become a reality for more than 13,000 children. In addition, people are trained to help themselves within the framework of the projects. www.visionforafrica-intl.org
